Dillon family papers, 1873-1954.

John L. Dillon papers include account books, receipts, bills, and correspondence of a coal business and a produce business variously known as Dillon & Larmon and Dillon & Associates. Also, accounts of the coal, flour, feed, fertilizer, and seed business operated by Dillon and his son, E. Gordon Dillon (d. 1960), and correspondence, receipts, inventories, and other papers pertaining to the family business and to their investments in securities, much of the latter with August Belmont & Company. The businesses were located in Salem, N.Y. Correspondence of E. Gordon Dillon with his parents during World War I and on a European tour (1927 and 1930), passports, photographs, letters to E. Gordon Dillon from Miss Florence Audubon (granddaughter of John James Audubon), and miscellany relating to Audubon and the Audubon family.
